Captain America: Civil War Spoiler Review

554b8a4d89081

Friday night I saw Captain America Civil War in theaters, which like how in the original Star Trek films Wrath of Kahn, Search for Spock and The Voyage Home are called a trilogy. This film along with Winter Soldier and Age of Ultron, make up an Avengers trilogy of sorts.

I was actually a fan of the first Captain America film and Winter Soldier is my favorite MARVEL CINEMATIC UNIVERSE film to date. Winter Soldier was a good film outside of the MCU, and it help change the look and feel of the films that came after.

When the news came out that the 3rd Captain America film would be semi based on the acclaim graphic novel CIVIL WAR, I was excited to see two of the MCU’s biggest heroes duel in  battle of right and wrong. Then Spider-Man and Ant-Man were announced to make an appearance in the film. Which OK I get why Ant-Man was in it, his film did good and Paul Rudd is a face people know. Plus he was in the comic. Spider-Man how ever always felt forced to me. Since SONY messed up another Spider-Man film they made a deal with the MCU to use the character in this film.

Let me get to the real SPOILER part of this blog:

The film begins in 1991, where we see the Winter Soldier being sent out on a mission to take out a car and steal some medical bags, we are never told really what these thing are. We learn later that its the same stuff Steve Rogers was given that made him Cap. America. Although, the only person who knew how to make that was the scientist who was murdered in the first Cap. America film. I guess they somehow found notes and recreated it? Also after we see Stark’s hologram of his parents leaving, and then clips of the night Winter Soldier look out the car in 91′, it was obvious that it was Tony’s parents who were in the car. Meaning Bucky killed his parents. Now this is not revealed to Tony until the very end of the film.

The whole motivation of the film to why Tony decides to sign the Sokovia Accords, is because a mom happens to be below a university waiting to meet him and show him a picture of her dead son. Who was killed in Sokovia.

We also get to see our “villain” for the film Zemo, what a waste of another MARVEL villain. He kills a former Soviet General who had worked on the Winter Soldier project we saw in the beginning. He’s motivation for killing people, is cause is wife and kids were killed in Sokovia. Really? So that’s why he killed Black Panther’s father and several others? We find out through Bucky that the stuff he stole from Tony’s dad was used to create more Winter Soldiers like him. They were all frozen and Zemo finds them, and what does he do when he finds them? He shoots them in the end and plays a videos showing Tony that Bucky killed his folks. How he knew Tony would show up, who knows.

Another wasted villain was Crossbones. Here’s a character we saw in Winter Soldier that is a big Captain America villain. In this film we see that he has a team that breaks into a building and steals a bio weapon. He then blows himself up, trying to kill Cap in the process. He’s stopped my Scarlet Witch, but she throws him towards a building with people…whoops.

How I would have done this film story is so:

Start it in 1991 like how the film does, with Bucky being told the lines that put him in a trance. We then see him Attack the car and taking the super serum.

We then cut to present day at the funeral of Peggy Carter. There is Cap, Falcon, Tony, Hank Pym and his daughter, Scott Lang, Black Widow, and the rest of the Avengers minor Hawkeye, Thor and Bruce. Like in the film we see we find out that Agent 13 Sharon Carter is related to Peggy. That an her an Cap have been romantic lately. It can be here where we have Ant-Man and Falcon reunite, Hank meeting Tony. and then Black Widow telling Cap that Crossbones is attacking a city in Africa.

Now this cam mirror what happens in the film a bit. What I would add is that along with Crossbones are these group of super like soldiers, who speak in Russian, are working along side him. They attack the center of disease control and try to steal a bio weapon. The Avengers like in the film stop them. They’re mission fails, but this group of super soldiers destroy a building killed many people. Crossbones and his team escape.

Like the film we cut to Tony’s hologram with his folks, but instead of him talking to a university we have him talking to a High School. He can be going on a tour, visiting High Schools and offering one lucky person a grant. There he can meet Peter Parker as he leaves and they have a mini conversation. Camera crews are out when a woman walks up to him acting like a mom who’s son is interested in the grant, only to reveal that her son was killed in Sokovia and his dreams died with him. Having this be LIVE on television we see Tony’s reaction and the worlds as well.

Much like in the film again, Gen. Ross meets with the Avengers and has then now working for the UN, which Tony agrees with and Roger saying no. We add in some lines to Cap about how can they trust Ross to not take advantage of the Avengers powers when he himself created an Abomination. Echo back the The Incredible Hulk film.

Cap now working with Falcon alone on this decides that he needs to find Bucky and see if he knows anything about these Russian speaking super soldiers. Bucky is still a wanted criminal though, so if caught he will go to jail.

We also find out that crossbones and the super soldiers are working for Baron Heinrich Zemo, who like in the film uses the information Black Widow leaked out to find out about the super soldiers and the Winter Soldier projects. We see Cap and Iron Man try to convince each other who’s right. We’re then joined by Black Panther, who is there to sign the Sokova Accords like in the film, when its attacked. Also like the film Bucky is blamed for it, when in reality it was the super soldiers and Zemo. They blame the attacks on Bucky and the governments of the world go after him. Its at this point someone leaked to Tony that Bucky killed his parents and wants him dead. With Cap knowing this the whole time, like in the film, after the events at the warehouse in Winter Soldier.

From this point we see a similar situations shown in the film. But Vision is also being held prisoner in the Avengers base, to not only protect Scarlet Witch who he likes, but because Tony feels responsible for his creation and makes a deal to make him safe. It didn’t make any sense to be why they would be afraid of Scarlet Witch and not the thing created by Ultron. We see a fight scenes between Cap and Crossbones mixed in. Zemo, like in the film, uses the soviet mind control on Bucky. Which still works on him. However as the film gets closer to the end Bucky is able to over come it and break the trance for good. He doesn’t get re frozen like in the film…that was stupid.

Also when Tony meets Peter Parker, he tells him he got selected for the scholarship and that he knows he’s the hero known as Spider-Man. So that differs a bit from the film.

The film ends with Captain, Bucky, and Iron Man fighting to the death. Its at this point where Tony knows that Zemo was behind it all, but is so taken over by anger still tries to Kill Bucky. Its also reveled that Zemo is actually Red Skull. After the events of the first film, the Tesseract sent him to where Thanos is. There he tells him of his world and Thanos uses him to help take over earth. Captain is about to pretty much kill Tony, after Iron man when a shot rings out. Its Crossbones, he snipes Cap killing him. Tony holds his dying body, as he looks out to where the shot came from. Bucky is cleared of all charges of the bombings, but is arrested for the crimes he committed as the Winter Soldier.

The film ends as it began, with a funeral. All the Avengers are there and Tony gives the eulogy. The Sokovia Accords go into effect. With the Avengers now part of the government, and some of the team is still in prison.

The first after credit scene is the Spider-Man one that was shown at the end of the film.

The after-credit scene is instead pays homage to the first Iron Man film. Tony walks into his house and much like how Nick Fury showed up in the dark, this time its Star Lord and the introduction is similar to that of Nick Fury. Tony is defensive and shoots his Iron Man hand glove at him. Star Lord moves out of the way and tells Tony that a darker force is coming.

BOOM, THE END!

So that’s my rant about Civil War and how I would have rewritten some parts.

If you haven’t scene the film, go watch it and make your own opinions.

Batman v Superman, why so much hate?

102597285-Batman-vs-Superman.1910x1000

I saw Batman v Superman opening day and I really liked it. Now the editing was a bit off at times, but i was drawn back in after those transitions.

People really have a problem with Superman, and how he was so dark and not the Donner Style of Superman. Well this is not the Donner world, remember that world later had Superman 3 and the Quest for Peace. This Superman was brought into a dark world, the type of world we live in now. He comes to this planet, stained and having to hid his powers that as a kid change him. He has to deal with hearing everyone’s thoughts, lazer eyes, this is a kid who growing up will have issues. He then loses his father who sacrifice his life to keep his son safe. Cut to years later he grows up and a bad guy from the past returns, attacks his mother, and his city. Causing death and destruction, he has to fight both them and our government. Then it comes down to him having to kill Zod to save humans, something that still haunts him. Which also shows the humans that Superman is willing to kill if he has to, even if its for “good”.

Also people are upset that Superman as killed at the end. We have to remember that even though this is the 2nd time we’ve seen this adaptation of Superman, he’s been on this planet for 3 years. Earth in this film has had Superman flying around for 3 years. In that 3 years he has had happy go-lucky-times with Lois and his life. When we come to this part of his life Batman is becoming more violent, and the government his coming down harder on him.

Then you come to Lex and many say he had no real purpose to attack Superman and Batman. He says in the film that his father lived a time where people threw flowers at dictators. He does not want to see that, so his plan is to kill Superman using Batman. Lex of course has a plan going past the death of Superman so he needs Batman out of the way. Which means ether they kill each other of as we see at the end Superman kills Batman and Doomsday kills Superman. The way to kill Doomsday after he kills Superman is with kryptonite, like how they do in the film. So Lex plans on having both Superman and Batman out of the picture anyway he can. If Superman did not die in the end I would have felt like it had no ending. He needed to die to redeem himself to the humans and for Batman to go back to his old ways.

I also liked how they introduced the future Justice League members. The Flash was cool, his speed force is more like real lightning, Aquaman was cool, and Cyborg was interesting because I really like that he’s a member of this team. Now I don’t know how a solo movie of him will work. Even the logos made by Lex Corp was OK with me, it didn’t take me out of the film. If we had seen that in an animated version no one would have a problem with it.

Now we come to the part everyone makes fun of. MARTHA! People are so mad that by Superman saying his mother’s name is also Martha makes him and Batman friends. No, the name does throw Batman off cause he thinks he’s talking about his mother at first and gets mad. Its when Lois tells him that Lex has his mother, who is named Martha. That’s when batman realizes that both him and Superman have been getting played. So he goes saves Superman’s mom and has Superman go fight Lex.

I will not understand why fans hate this film, it was good and I will be owning the uncut bluray!

What if Lando was in Ep. 7?

using_slashgear_starwarstheforceawakens

OK so its been a month now since Star Wars: The Force Awakens was in theaters here in the US. Everyone by now has given their two-cents about what they thought of the film and some rumors for the next films.

One thing that really bothered me though was how the film had characters that served no purpose. Captain Phasma is one of the biggest ones, but her character can grow as the films go on. Max Von Sydow’s character Lor San Tekka however was a huge wast of a actor and actor. SPOILER: He dies about 5 minutes into film. With the lines given to him it make it sound like he had some important backstory to the Leia and the Rebellion. Also Kylo addresses him as like him and Tekka had a past. They may bring this up in the comics, but if you never read them, his character served no purpose!

This is why I think they should have replaced his character with, Lando Calrissian.

Lando-Calrissian_a679fe1e

Go with me…

You can take some of the same dialogue, and it would make sense.

“This will begin to make things right”, this could mean that Lando is still trying to make up for the events during Cloud City.

Lando would also know about the Jedi and the Dark Side so the dialogue about that would work as well.

“General? To me she’s Royalty.” That line is MADE for Lando’s silk Colt 45 voice!

The most important lines are when Kylo looks at Tekka and says, “Look how old you’ve become.” That would make sense with Lando, since Kylo is Han’s son and he would know Lando from childhood. Also the line, “I know where you come from. Before you called yourself “Kylo Ren”, is more relevant with Lando. That and the line about his family.

lando-calrissian-and-harrison-ford-han-solo-in-star-wars-the-empire-strikes-back-1645431026.0.0

Now we get to the part where the film could have given us our first gut-punch!

When Kylo strikes down Tekka killing him really does nothing to the story, and since we’ve never seen this character before gives us no emotional connection.

Now think if that character was replaced with Lando. BOOM!

Killing Lando in the beginning would show us the audience and fans that this film is not playing around. Also, when else can you put Billy Dee in the series really? Kylo would have not only killed his dad, but his “uncle” as well.

Unfortunately we will never see this happen, but a fanboy can dream!

Spaceballs II: The Schwartz Rises

So Mel Brooks said that if he were to make another Spaceballs film, he would release it when SW EP.8 opens so that way he could get some of that SW CASH!

Now this is most likely will never happen, but if it did this is how I would write it.

We cut to 30 years since the original films story line. Planet Spaceball has been liberated from the evil spaceball empire. President Skroob as begun to rebuild with his new right handed man Lord Silver Helmet. Lonestar has disappeared, and Princess Vespa is now Queen of Druidia.

Bring back Bill Pullman as Lone Star and Daphne Zuniga as Princess Vespa, who’s now Queen of Druidia.

with Sara Silverman as the new droid i-Mac7.

Cast Audrey Plaza as the daughter of Vespa and Lone Star. Plaza’s character is also looking for her father after the evil Spaceballs start attacking once again.

Plaza and i-Mac7 bump into Jay Pharoah’s character who is looking for Lone Star cause of the bounty on his head by Don Pappa-Jon. They both decide to team up and look for a pilot. that’s where we see Barf’s son Chunks played by Bobby Moynihan who’s a Pilot of the famous Winnebago.

Through their travels Plaza’s character starts sensing something, following leads they go to Planet Hollywood to meet with Yogurt. Who is now living off the merchandise from the first film, he then tells Plaza that she is strong with the Schwartz like her father.

As for the villains I would cast Charlie Day as the new Dark Helmet called Lord Silver Helmet, and the joke is that you make fun of his voice box and make it sound like a bad fast food voice box. So he has to open his helmet to be heard correctly. I would also cast Ben Schwartz, who was one of the voices of BB-8, as the Gen Hux type character. I’d make him a bit flamboyant also. Then of course you have to bring Mel Brooks back as the Supreme Leader Skroob who is now disfigured from a bad plastic surgery to seem younger.

You can have shameless cameos from Star Wars actors and other celebrities.

Hire Bobby Moynihan, Beck Bennett, Kyle Mooney and Taran Killam, and Key & Peele to write the film.

I think if done well this could be the spoof movie that redeems the bad spoof movies we have been given.

Spaceballs2

The worst movie of 2015 was…

vacation_2015_movie-wide

Vacation!
Yep that’s right, the unnecessary and unfunny sequel/reboot to the classic Vacation series.

I did not laugh one in this film, I’m sorry I did laugh when Chevy Chase was on screen…for less then 10 mins.

Ed Helms is awful in the role of Rusty Griswold. He works great as a side character like in the Hangover, but he’s not a main lead comedian. Nothing he does in this film even came close to what Chase did in the other films.

Christina Applegate was a waste of a talented comedic actress. She was the strait-actor to Helms idiot character. Beverly D’Angelo did better in the wife character role, and has aged better then Chase.

The kids in this film are the WORST characters in this film. The older brother is not funny at all and really just a sad character. Then the little brother was written so poorly, he was mean and vulgar for the sake of being just that. There is a seen where the whole family is singing and the little brother just calls his brother something vulgar for no reason…I don’t remember what it was cause I’ve blocked most of this film out of my brain.

There’s also these two subplots that re introduced that go nowhere. One has to do with a rival pilot played by…ugh WHY did this actor sign on to do this movie! Ron Livingston of Office Space and Band of Brothers…Ron how did they drag you into this film? So in the beginning of the film we see this one-shot scene where I guess the Helms and Ron characters have some bitter rivalry. It’s never mention again till the end of the film, and even then it sort of just begins and ends like in 2 seconds.

The other useless subplot is the other brother’s love interest. She pops up here and there through out the film, its cute scenes but it has no pay off. I thought they were going to have it where she was the daughter of Ron Livingston…nope her character was just some random girl.

Then we get our 2nd…no 5th Handed Cousin Eddie family with Thor and Leslie Mann. Leslie Mann plays the same character she always plays in comedy films…so not funny. Thor is your new Cousin Eddie, he lives in Plano, Texas. Being from the area I can say that’s no where in Plano, Texas I’ve ever seen. And of course he plays it was the stereotypical Texan, with movie cowboy shirts, has long horn on his ranch house property, and everything looks like the inside of a Cavenders store. If you don’t know what that is, google it. He’s not funny in the slightest, and the big dick joke falls flat…”pun”. It makes me worried for his performance in the upcoming Ghost Busters reboot. Actually this whole film makes me worried for that film!

Looking back there is one scene besides the Chevy Chase scenes that made me giggle. This one has to do with the cameo by Daryl Dixon himself. Watch and see if you giggle a bit.

In conclusion I’ll say this, go watch the original films and skip this piece of garbage that spit on the memory of Harold Ramis and John Hughes.

Star Wars Ep.7 SPOILER REVIEW

lR11hyU

Last night I saw The Force Awakens at a private screening. I was on the edge of my seat when the craw began. Luke as vanished!

Now I really liked the film, I thought that this film was a huge improvement to the prequels. I thought the old and new cast did great. Adam Driver was terrifying as Kylo Ren, who spoiler is Ben Solo. He was the best of both the dark side of Vader, and the childish personality of Anakin. He was hands-down the best person in the film.

GIF_star_wars_force_awakens_korean_trailer_2

The story is almost a shot by shot remake of a New Hope in some ways. Where a droid is carrying important information to the resistance, that was left by a hero who was captured, by a dark force warrior, only to be rescued by a person dressed as a stormtrooper. Then The robot meets a person on a dessert planet that’s a good fixer-uper. Then they meet up with Han Solo and Chewe. Also the bad guys have created a giant death machine to blow up planets, only to have its shields lowered and have a small area exposed to attack, then the character who is the mentor to the fixer-uper dies at the hands of the dark warrior. The fixer then uses the power of the force to stop the bad guy.

Sounds pretty similar, but it works for this story.

Much how the first films had their own style, because of the different directors, The Force Awakens is very much a JJ Abrams film. Except no lens flairs everywhere, thank the maker. Oh and 3PO says that in the movie…like in Ep 4.

As we learn pretty early on into the film, Kylo Ren is Han and Leia’s son Ben. Ben was Luke’s padawan in the new Jedi Order. However Ben, being much like Vader, was easily manipulated by the dark side of the force. So he killed all the Jedi’s, and Luke being ashamed of what his nephew and padawan had done goes into  hiding. After all that Han and Leia go their separate ways.

giphy

Then years later the new rebellion is fighting the new empire called “The First Order”. They dropped the whole clone army thing and now they steal babies from families. Thus giving them a serial name and a job as ether a soldier or as a worker.

The main character in this film is Rey, who is most likely Luke’s daughter. As we see in a force flash that after Kylo Rne killed all the Jedi’s Rey was left on Jakku to live with Max Von Sydow, who we say in the beginning of the film get killed by Kylo Ren. By theory is that Ren killed Luke’s wife, and to hide Rey from the darkside, much how Obi-Wan did for him, he left her in the hands of an old friend to raise her and keep her safe.

The reason I believe this is because Rey as a natural talent for piloting and fixing stuff, much like a young Luke. I think Han can tell that there is something familiar about Rey when she’s on the Falcon fixing stuff. Also the way Leia looks at her, its if she knows the truth (because of the force).

star-wars-force-awakens-4

Now lets get to the part I know everyone is talking about. The over use of Fan Service obviously!

We have Fin telling Poe, “This is a rescue mission!”

While on the Falcon we see the training ball Luke used to guide the force, and the video game Chewe and 3PO were playing.

Now Han does say, “I have a bad feeling about this.” But thats OK, its said in every star wars film.

When Han and Fin capture Cap. Phasma Han asks if there’s a trash compactor they can throw her in…you know like in the first film.

Ok, Ok…to the real thing everyone is talking about. The death of Han Solo. Now when Kylo aka Ben kills his father I said, “You Son Of A Bitch!” I knew it was going to happen the way the scene was set up. But when it happened….YOU SON OF A BITCH! That was a moment that both the screenwriter and Ford have been waiting to do since Jedi, and it was done well…and by well I mean heartbreaking.

This film in my opinion is not for young children, there is a lot of death and violence in this film, and even I a 27 year-old man child got nightmares from the film.

Force_Awakens_GIF.gif.CROP.original-original

So if your a fan of the saga you’re really going to enjoy this film, and if your now a fan you will also enjoy the film because its an epic film!

The Ridiculous 6 spoiler review

screenshot_2015-10-28_15.28.14

If you’ve read my review of Adam Sandler’s film Pixles, if not here a LINK to that blog. You know that I’m was not a fan of Pixles, I thought it was a great idea with a lot of potential but failed to make a good movie.

Adam Sandler is a hit or very very hard miss. Now I think everyone can say that Sandler’s earlier films Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore and The Wedding Singer were funny. Then you get films like  The Waterboy, and Little Nicky (which is a guilty pleasure for me, but that does not mean its good).

That all being said I was still interested in seeing his new Netflix movie The Ridiculous 6. I’ll be honest, it was that bad. Its offensive as hell, if your Native American or Mexican this film will rub you the wrong way.

The story is not terrible, Sandler plays a white man who was raised by Native Americans after his mother was murdered. Now here’s where our first offensive stuff comes up. Some of the Natives have um…odd names. Like Smoking Fox, Beaver Breath and Screaming Eagle. Sandler’s character is like the Yohan of the west, they way he fights and jumps around reminded me of that character (another film I though was decent).

The plot revolves around Sandler’s character meeting his dad, played by Nick Nolte, who tells him that he’s hid money in the hill country. He’s then kidnapped by his former gang who want their cut of the money. Sandler, unable to find where his father hid the money decides to steal from the bad to raise the money to free his dad.

We then meet our next character Ramon, played by Rob Schneider the best fake ethnic actor since Fisher Stevens. Again here’s another place where people will probably get offended. Much like the previous foreign characters that Schneider has played, this one is a stereotype. Whether it be the big Sombero and Poncho, to the reference Donkey Shows and the very typical fake Mexican accent. We also get to meet his friend Donkey, who…now I want you to realized the following joke was written by someone. OK, the donkey at random times just has explosive diarrhea. Again, someone wrote that joke into the film…and used it more then once.

As they find out that they’re brothers, Schneider convinces Sandler to tag long while he robs the local bank. It during the robbery that they meet their younger brother Lil’ Pete, played by Taylor Lautner. This is the worst character in the whole film. He’s annoying from beginning to end.

After they rob the bank they head to one of their fathers old hideouts, and what do ya know they meet another brother played by Hurley from Lost. Now where Lautner was the worst character in the film, Jorge Garcia’s Gabby Hayes type character Herm is the best character in the film. Every scene he’s in made me laugh, and he never an audible word!

So Hurley joins his brothers to help save their father, they make their way to a gold mining town lead by Mr. White himself. The three brothers plan to steal a giant piece of gold at the local saloon. During the plan they bump into their last two brothers played by Luke Wilson and Terry Crews. They way Luke Wilson plays his character is like he knows he’s in a Sandler film so why try hard to act. Crews on the other hand is use to being in a Sandler film so he just goes right along and as fun with his character.

So the brothers get the money to save their dad. Their also a sub plot with Will Forte and Steve Zahn as outlaws hunting down Sandler for revenge for beating them up in the beginning of the film.

As the film comes to a close with the brothers giving the money to his fathers gang, Sandler killing the man who murdered his mother, and thr big reveal that Nolte’s character was in on the kidnapping. Which was not a bad twist. I guess Nolte’s plan was to meet his son, tell him about some money that was barred in the hills (which it never says if that was a lie, but I guessed it was). So if that was a lie to get his son to go and rob people to get the money to save him, what would he had done if Sandler just was like, “Oh well, back to my Native Family.” The whole plan is not thought out well.

Now I know In started off saying that the film was OK and that it was not terrible. I still think that, yes they’re elements that are cliche Sandler tropes, but its a free movie on Netflix. At least I didn’t pay for it!

The thousands of cameos alone make this film fun to watch, and each cameo actor does a funny job with their short scenes.

Adam-Sandler-Ridiculous-Six-Cast-in-New-Mexico-OHI

So if you have Netflix and have binged watched all your shows, watch The Ridicules 6, its not as bad as Grown Ups 2 and Blended. I’d say its right up there with Seth McFarland’s A Million Ways to Die in the West.

Now if you want to see a really funny western spoof, go watch Mel Brooks’ Blazing Saddles! Now that’s a funny farce western!

Ant-Man Movie Review

Ant-Man_Animated_Teaser_Poster.gif

Ant-Man starring Paul Rudd was the MARVEL movie everyone was worried about. Could the studio that made the unknown comic Guardians of the Galaxy  into one of the best MARVEL movies do the same with Ant-Man?

The answer is yes, Ant-Man is right there with the 1st Thor movie and Winter Solder. Its funny and full of action. What’s best about this movie is that it makes sense why the Avengers are not helping out to stop the villain.

Hank Pym must stop his former protege from creating a the shrinking process and put it in the hands of Hydra. When Scott Lang says that they should call the Avengers, Pym said that he tried to keep Stark’s father way from his invention, so he won’t just hand it over to his son. Makes sense, plus Pym wants to keep this on the down low.

We do get to see one of the new Avengers Falcon,  who Scott calls “The Pelican”. Falcon and Ant-Man get into a fight, Scott cracking jokes the majority of the fight.

The shrinking scenes with Ant-Man are like watching a 360 degrees camera.

Everyone in the film do a terrific job, Michael Pena is hilarious as Pym’s former prison buddy.

Michael Douglas is great as Hank Pym. What surprises me the most is how CGI has advanced. When we see young Michael Douglas in the 80’s it’s like the went back in time to get Gordon Gecko. If only TRON: LEGACY has the same CGI for young Jeff Bridges.

Corey Stoll from House of Cards plays such a diabolical bad guy. Bent on revenge against Pym. Although its sort of a sad story cause its the process of his shrinking formula that is making him crazy. Even though Stoll does not become The Yellow Jacket till the very end of the film, his fight scene with Pym is awesome!

Evangeline Lilly and Paul Rudd have a good chemistry on screen. Although her character does little in the film, all she does is train Scott to fight using his Ant-Man strength. I hope in the Sequel Ant-Man and the Wasp that her character is more fleshed out.

Co-written by Rudd and Adam McKay, and you can tell. The comedic timing of the film is spot on, and it works cause you have a cast that knows both comedy and drama.

Towards the end we get a quick line that sounds a lot like Spider-Man. Falcon is looking for Scott, to have him join the new Avengers.

And like every MARVEL movie we get an after-the-credit-scene  of Captain America: Civil War. Falcon has found Bucky and tell Steve that Tony can’t know, but that he knows a guy that could help.

CUT TO BLACK

ANT-MAN WILL RETURN

So that’s my review on MARVEL’s Ant-Man. It was nothing like what I thought it would be, I really every aspect of this film. There’s wasn’t ever a point where the film just lost me. If I had to rank my top favorite MCU movies here’s what they would be:

  1. Captain America: Winter Solder
  2. THOR
  3. ANT-MAN
  4. Guardians of the Galaxy
  5. Actually, I don’t have a #5 yet, maybe Civil War will make the list?

Batman v Superman Trailer Review

Batman-vs.-Superman-Dawn-Of-Justice

The new trailer for Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman film dropped yesterday. We got some incite to the film’s plot, and a few spoilers.

When the trailer opens up we see a press event taking place set up my LexCorp. Clark is there covering the event for the Daily Planet. Then Gotham’s must famous playboy millionaire Bruce Wayne shows up. We get a good look at Ben Affleck’s  Bruce. He’s older, and from the conversation with Clark about the diffrences between Superman and Batman, it looks as if Bruce knows that Clark is The Man of Steel.

We also get a reference to the Joker, you can tell when Affleck says, “Maybe its the Gotham City in me…” you can tell he’s been wanting to say that since childhood!

We then get to see Lex introduce the two hero’s in a very corny fashion. It’s like Gene Hackman’s Lex Luthor but as a young man. Although the whole hand shaking line from Lex saying how firm Clark’s was is stupid.

It’s shown that Bruce and Lex have meet in the past, most likely is business passing.

We then get another look into the Batman dream sequence with Superman, cause that’s what it is.

What I thought was interesting is that we get are first bat swear in a movie, “That Son of a Bitch.” I’m sure he must have said “damn” at some point. But throwing at an SOB, this is a more angry, bitter, Batman we are getting.

Lex then says the title of the movie again as he has Lois captured. Which short of shows that he probably knows that Clark is Superman.

Then we get the whole movie RUINED when the studio and the editor of the trailer spoil the surprise plot. We see that Lex is using Zod’s body for some experiments, now we have seen these same things in the previous trailer. What we get to see now is the reveal of DOOMSDAY! Yep, the main villain of the movie and he’s most likely going to be on screen for maybe 20mins. Why show everyone this and not wait to surprise people at the theaters?

Also we get a funny joke between Batman and Superman about Wonder Woman. “She with you?” “I thought she was with you?” ADD LAUGH HERE!

All in all, I liked the trailer. It has its fair share of funny, serious, action, and comic book homage scenes. Will this by past Nolan’s Batman Series in the box office? We shall see, all I know for sure is that nothing is going to beat Star Wars until maybe Captain America: Civil War.

Gods of Egypt, Why do movies like this get green-lit?

I just watched the trailer for what I predict will be the first financial bomb of 2016, GODS OF EGYPT.

This movie stars Game of Thrones actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as the hero of the film Horus, He also started in last years The Other Woman, the really disappointing feature film version of the scary short film Mama, and had a bit part in the boring Tom Cruise space movie Oblivion. None of these movies are pieces of great cinema by any count.

Our bad guy is played by the start of the upcoming 80’s action comedy London Has Fallen Down, Fallen Down, Fallen Down, My Fair Lady, Gerard Butler as Set. Ugh, I can not stand Gerard Butler. The only movie I liked with him in it was The Ugly Truth, don’t judge me monkey…

What makes me sad as I read this cast is that somehow they were able to rope in Geoffrey Rush, from Pirates of the Caribbean and Mystery Men (that was the first movie I saw him in), and Black Panther himself Chadwick Boseman.

These two are really good actors, how did they agree to do this film? Rush I can kind of get, I mean like Morgan Freeman said once about why do A Dolphin Tale 2…”Money.” Boseman though, he just got signed on to Disney’s Marvel Universe for both Civil War and a stand alone Black Panther film. He does not need to do this movie, unless they offered them both a butt-load of cash.

With Nikolaj and Butler I can see them doing movies like this. Look at what Butler is coming out next year, a stupid sequel to a stupid movie.

What makes me even more surprise is that a production company would produce this movie and give the movie a 140 million dollar budget. The last Hunger Games movie was only made with 125 million.

Now you can argue, “well look at the trailer, this is a heavy CGI movie. I bet it was all shot on greenscreen and that’s why its so expensive to make!” Take as Exhibit A Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, it was made for 113 million and it was a heavy CGI film. Course with the last Pirates film the budget was 378.5 million and racked in a total of 1.046 billion in the box office. But Gods of Egypt is not piggy backing on a franchise like Pirates is doing. This film I highly predict will come no where close to a billion in the box office. I’ll be surprise if they even break their budget.

Lionsgate is distributing the film, this is the same company of The Hunger Games, Twilight Saga, and The Expendables. So even when this film tanks they will be OK with Hunger Games money. Not to mention they got the distributing rights to the new Mighty Morphing Power Rangers film.

So now we come back to the question at hand, why do films like this get made? What I think is that a film like this will make bank overseas and with that they are able to make their budget back and more. Cause no one here in the US is going to see this movie. I would love to find someone out there who watch the trailer and said, “OMG! What an epic trailer! I MUST see this film!”

They only positive thing I take from this is, if a piece of movie garbage like this can get made I can make a movie, and find people back it like no sweat!
